Elementary School Student Support Services Counselor

Part-Time Temporary Position

AHM Youth & Family Services seeks a dedicated human services professional to provide school-based counseling, crisis support, and positive youth development services to students at Hebron Elementary School (grades 3 through 6).

Schedule:       

  • This is a temporary position available now through the end of the 2024-2025 school year.
  • Two to four days per week; 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Pay Rate:

  • $37.28 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Director of Educational Services and school district administration to provide individual and group counseling and maintain a student caseload. 
  • Lead support groups and classroom workshops.
  • Maintain a referral network of service providers. 
  • Facilitate support groups for students with special needs and their families.
  • Coordinate and help implement students’ behavioral goals and objectives on Individualized Education Programs (IEP’s). 
  • Collaborate with school support team to assess student needs and provide appropriate referrals and services. 
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of Social Emotional Learning programming to students and classrooms.
  • Support the ongoing development of a district-wide Social Emotional Learning newsletter and related resources for students, staff, and families. 
  • Serve as a liaison between the community and the school.

Requirements:

  • Position requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of master’s level experience in social work, counseling, or related positions in the human services field. 
  • Experience working with school-age children.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
