Part-Time Student Assistant Counselor

Newtown Youth & Family Services seeks a Student Assistant Counselor to provide informal, confidential drop-in based therapeutic support to students at Newtown Middle School and Newtown High school by referral. Services will focus in substance use and abuse as well as the student overall wellbeing.

Requirements:

Must have a Master’s degree in Human Services or related field.

Must have a License (LCSW, LMFT, LADC or LPC) and experience in a school setting and substance abuse.

Must have experience in counseling / educating children & adolescents actively using substances or affected by substance abuse.

27.5 hours a week, following the school calendar.

Pays $32-34/hourly.
